India to Acquire mig 35 poses a great risk or arms race in South Asia new
      #58357 - 09/07/05 07:35 AM

Ever since India announced its plan to acquire 125 new fighter jets to replace its mig 21 fleet; the major defense exporters are busy wooing India. US even offered joint air exercises with India. But now it seems like Russia is going to score. They have even offered the transfer of technology to India which will enable India to start the production of mig35s indigenously. This move seriously will affect the military balance of South Asia which will affect not only Pakistan but might bring China to party with the arms race. And the other serious outcome of this bid is that USA is aggressively pursuing its economical interests than remain in bed with what its traditional ally Pakistan

Beta the mig 35 is a good fighter but the Indian Airforce does not need it. We are going for the Blackjact Tu160 and our Russian brothers are giving it serious thought. Our Kaveri engines are on schedule and we are going for next generation fighters with vector thrust abilities as standard. So there is no arms race because the Chinese airforce and the Pakistani airforce are playing with toys such as the J10 fighter which is not bad but nothing for the Indian Airforce to worry about because we have our su30s flankers. We Indians are moving on into Hydrogen fuel technology etc so we have no time for a arms race with our neighbours. Jai Hind.
